As the name suggests this is a blend of fruit from all the dirts: namely, five different dirts scattered around South Gippsland. Marcus ferments the fruit from each vineyard separately due to the difference in ripening times, with roughly 15% whole bunch. A mixture of old and new oak is used, with a maximum of 15-20% new oak depending on the dirt. 2018 was a slightly warmer vintage, that still managed to hang onto a lovely, balanced acidity. This year's creation is pretty and bright both in colour as well as aroma. Red petals, ripe strawberries greet you, swiftly followed by delicately tart acidity dancing along the tongue. The line of tension is supported by a well-integrated, almost muscular mouthfeel - a gorgeous example of how much detail and enjoyment Gippsland Pinot has to offer.
