Fruit from younger vines on a south-facing slope on the world-class Mount Mary vineyard. The winemaking methodology follows other Mount Mary white wines, where the fruit is pressed relatively hard to give the wine a phenolic texture - this is a good thing, add an extra, almost gastronomic, edge to the wines. Fermentation is conducted with a high solids component also for added complexity. All of this attention and detail have created, as with their top tier 'Triolet' white blend, one of the most outstanding dry whites made in Australia.

“I feel like we make wine better in the hard years, you have to think more, pay more attention, work a little more. Then take a look at ’15 and things just happened, but it was easy, and the wines were great but not as inspiring to me. The 2016 harvest was really good for cabernet and chardonnay, though we made Relfexion in 2016 too, but that was more about upping the quality of the Mount Mary”, offers winemaker Sam Middleton. Small parcels that didn’t make Triolet make this wine, predominately off younger vines here too.
Oyster shells, citrus, citrus blossom, whiffs of vanilla. Comely perfume here. Fine and bright in the palate, quite slinky but also has a neat chalky edge. Very long too – pristine in flavours with just a hint of nutty savouriness. A delight. Totally.
