This release is sourced from a small Steele’s Creek vineyard in the Yarra Valley – planted in 1996 and lovingly revived following the 2009 bushfires. The long-awaited 2018 Pinot Noir is pale garnet in colour and a touch riper than its 2017 counterpart. On the nose raspberries and perfumed notes abound, along with a delicate note of sweet spice. Destemmed with a small portion of whole bunch, the palate has bright cherry and raspberry characters along with a lick of blueberry. Soft tannins follow with a hint of toasty oak on the finish. This youthful wine concludes with good length and can be cellared for up to five years.
